Lecture Series
Paper companies are more associated with conveying culture on the page than contributing to it through live events, but the Howard Smith Paper Lecture Series breaks the rules.
Since 2005, a succession of inspirational and influential image-makers have galvanised packed, diverse audiences at BAFTA’s Piccadilly headquarters, London, and sparked legions of new collaborations within the graphic design fraternity. Known today as the Howard Smith Paper lecture series, it has gathered a large following since the first event and has since become highly respected in the creative industry.
Among the lecturers have been artists Paul Davis, Lawrence Weiner, Alexander Gelman, Felice Varini photographer Paul Graham, adman Erik Kessels and record sleeve artist Storm Thorgerson. A personally signed journal featuring each artists work is distributed to each member of the audience on the night, with additional copies available for key customers throughout the UK.
